Diagnostic Coding Training for Long-Term Care

The implementation of ICD-10-CM has had a major impact on coding for healthcare services.  Medical claims need to follow the ICD-10-CM coding guidelines in order to be submitted and considered for reimbursement.  Nursing professionals play a key role in this process by providing accurate and complete documentation.  Documentation is a critical component for determining accurate coding.  Healthcare Academy offers a comprehensive ICD-10-CM Certificate Program that has been designed to help learners gain knowledge about common conditions, ethical documentation and coding, and coding guidelines that are specific to ICD-10-CM.

Healthcare Academy ICD-10 training uses a case study method to give learners diagnostic coding training and experience using real-world clinical resident examples to code an entire case from beginning to end.

ICD-10 Training Applications

Healthcare Academy ICD-10 education can be used in the following areas:

  • New tire training;

Healthcare Academy offers a comprehensive MDS 3.0 Certificate Program to help educate staff on the MDS 3.0 Assessment. This curriculum was designed in conjunction with industry thought leaders as a tool for effective interdisciplinary team (which includes occupational therapists, physical therapists, social workers, nurses) training.
