Healthcare Academy has two sets of privacy policies.
Notice of Privacy Practices for HCA Products
Some of Healthcare Academy’s products are capable of storing Protected Health Information (PHI) when provided to us by our customers. We have published a Notice of Privacy Practices. You can download a PDF version of our Notice of Privacy Practices.
What information do we collect?
When you register for a webinar or purchase one of our courses or facility subscriptions, we will collect your name, any applicable contact information (including street address, phone number, and e-mail address), and credit card payment information (if applicable.) If you sign up for one of our newsletters, we will ask for your name and e-mail. Should you make it available, we may collect your facility’s/employer’s name and your job title.
What do we use your information for?
Students who use our learning management system have their full name and login information stored in our database. This includes students who sign up for courses individually and employees of facilities using our services. Facility administrators may add more information about their employees, including hire date, license numbers, employee ID numbers, and other details. If you are concerned about what information your facility administrators may store on our servers, please talk with them.
Facilities will have administrator information and facility contact information stored in our database when it is provided to us.
Individuals registering for webinars will be asked to provide their name, e-mail, phone number, and basic employment information. We use this information to track attendance, notify you of changes to the webinar schedule, and see where our visitors are coming from. We do not sign you up for any e-mail lists without your consent.
Your credit card number and credit card billing information are not stored on our server. Your address and phone number is stored on a remote secure payment processing gateway, but the credit card information is not accessible to us.
We may also store address/contact information if it has been provided to us, but under no circumstances will we sell this information to a third party or use it for any purpose other than managing your account. Your information, whether public or private, will not be sold, exchanged, transferred, or given to any other company for any reason whatsoever, without your consent, other than for the express purpose of delivering the purchased product or service requested.
When you purchase a facility subscription from us, if you provide your e-mail address to us, we will use it to contact you regarding product updates and technical information. This is necessary to make sure you are aware of the updated services available to you that you are paying for. However, you may unsubscribe at any time by replying to the e-mail and requesting removal from our mailing lists.
How do we protect your information?
All collected information is transmitted over an encrypted Secure Socket Layer (SSL) connection. No credit card information is stored on our server.
